
Pichai Sundararajan better known as Sundar Picha, is an Indian-American business executive. He is the chief executive officer (CEO) for Alphabet Inc.'s subsidiary Google. Born in Madurai, India.[4] Pichai graduated from IIT Kharagpur with a degree in metallurgical engineering. After moving to the United States, Pichai earned an M.S. from Stanford University in materials science and engineering and further attained an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in which he was awarded the Siebel Scholar and an Palmer Scholar, respectively.Pchai began his career as a material engineer. After a brief period at the management consultancy firm McKinsey and Co., Pichai joined Google in 2004 as a product manager. He managed the product management as well as innovation initiatives for a number of Google's software for clients which included Google Chrome as well as ChromeOS as well as being the primary person responsible for Google Drive. Pichai also oversaw the development of Google Maps, Gmail, as well as other applications. In 2010, Pichai also declared the open-sourcing of the new video codec VP8 by Google and also introduced the brand new format for video, WebM. 2012 saw the debut of Chromebook. Pichai was the director of the development of Android in 2012, added Android to his list of Google products.
