Taylor Swift, the rarest pop star, is one who was able to transcend over from country music to mainstream pop culture, becoming an idol of the pop world. The singer also swept the entire globe through her music. Swift dropped country as if it was another layer and proved that she is perhaps the most intelligent pop singer/songwriter of her time. A person who has the ability to tap into the current zeitgeist and make it personal, and sing in the other direction. The first songs she released like the Neotribute in tribute to Tim McGraw were a testament of her ability. However, her second album Fearless in 2008 showcased a songwriter finding her voice and a wider audience. Fearless was successful not only in America, but also with six platinum-certified songs. The Top Ten songs Love Story and You Belong with Me were the most important reasons. However, it did exceptionally well throughout the world. Swift's new album Speak Now, released nearly two years following the debut, further consolidated this success. It helped propel Swift into the spotlight. Her popularity only increased through her subsequent three albums - Red (2012) 1989 (2014) as well as Reputation (2017) and Reputation in 2017 which saw her move into a pop realm in which she was already a part. While she reduced her production with folklore, and Evermore releases in 2020 she was in the forefront of pop music.
