Lee
Lee Roy Selmon has a tradition that blends family scholarship football and volunteer work in the community. The first time Selmon was born by Lucious as well as Jessie Selmon on an agricultural property near Eufala located in Oklahoma as the youngest of their nine children. Also, he was one of three siblings that represented Oklahoma on the field of football. Three of them were All-Americans. In 1973, Lucious Jr. Dewey and Lee Roy were starters. Lee Roy won the Outland and Lombardi Awards as the nation's top lineman. He was awarded two championships as well as the score was 32-1-1 over his three seasons as Oklahoma's main man. In 1975, the National Football Foundation named him a Scholar-Athlete for the third time in 1975. Selmon obtained his degree in education. Lee Roy's fourth time of service included ten hours per week in volunteer work during college. After graduation, he moved into Tampa and played for nine years for Tampa's Buccaneers. He made the All-Pro 3 times. Then he started his career. His first job was as an Account Relations Manager at First Florida Bank, Tampa. He was a member previously for the Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. In 1982, the Junior Chamber of Commerce recognized Lee Roy as one of the 10 of America's most outstanding young men. Lee Roy stood 6-2 in the height department and weighed 256 lbs as a college player he captained the 1975 team. In 1993 he joined his current position at University of South Florida as an associate director of athletics. In 1988, he was voted into the College Football Hall of Fame. The same year, he also was a part of an appearance in the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame and the Pro Football Hall of Fame. In 1989, the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation awarded the Distinguished American Award, to Mr. Lucious Selmon and his wife. Henry Bellmon the Governor of Oklahoma presented the award.
